Nine Mile Falls families and residents,
The purpose of this communication is to inform all of our Nine Mile families and residents that Riverside State Park contacted us to help them communicate the fact that they are now enforcing the requirement of the Discover Pass for anyone who parks in the Sontag Park parking lot.
Due to this recent communication with them, along with people parking in the Nine Mile Falls Elementary Parking lot to access Sontag and Riverside State Park during school hours, we needed to send a message and reminder to our community. We are asking all State Park visitors to avoid using the Nine Mile Falls Elementary parking lot during school hours and days to access the park. Utilizing the school parking lot for park access is not something we can allow or endorse during school days and hours. Ultimately, this restriction of public parking access is designed to ensure the safety of our Nine Mile Falls Elementary students and staff.
The Nine Mile Falls School District will soon display signs in the Nine Mile Falls Elementary parking lot reminding park visitors to avoid parking here during school days and hours. We are asking all community members and visitors to Sontag and Riverside State Park to avoid using the Nine Mile Falls Elementary parking lot during school days and hours (8:30a - 3:30p). We are also asking for your help in communicating this information to the larger community. Access to the Nine Mile Falls Elementary School parking lot is permitted after school hours and on non-school days.
